Avalon is ramping up for another week of 24/7 prayer! Many folks remember what an extraordinary week last year's Pray 24/7 was! For many Avalonians, it was a powerful experience of the presence of the Lord. And many of us found our experience of prayer to be both broadened and deepened. So we're doing it again with great expectations! It all happens the week of October 16-23! Over the next couple of weeks, you can sign up for hour-long slots during that week. We also need folks who are willing to serve as security personnel or substitutes. You can fill out the form below to volunteer for one of those roles. Prayer Captain - Take responsibility for an eight-hour shift, calling people the day before to remind them of the time they signed up for and calling substitutes in case someone doesn't show up for their hour of prayer.

Security - Take responsibility for a three-hour shift in the night, being present in the hallway outside the prayer room to ensure that room is secure for those praying.

Substitute for Someone Praying - Be available to be called to serve as a substitute if someone is unable to show up for their hour of prayer.

Substitute for Security - Be available to be called to serve as a substitute if someone is unable to show up for their security shift.

This is our version of a basic guide for spending an hour in prayer. It provides ideas for creatively expressing praise, offering confession and for sharing your needs.

Prayer Wheel - An Hour with God
This resource adapts Dick Eastman's (The Hour that Changes the World) classic division of an hour into five minute segments, with each segment dedicated to a different practice of prayer.

Yet another adaptation of a guide for structuring an hour of prayer (this one from the folks as Impact Prayer Ministry). We've adapted their guide for use with our church - includes elements of praise, confession and specifics ways of praying for our church.
